Asus Zenfone Lite L1 Review

Published

on

Before we start the review of Zenfone lite L1, let’s some introduction about the Asus. As we know in the last couple of years Asus has done really good work with their smartphones. After the big success of Zenfone Max M1, M2, pro M2, then Asus has lauched the Zenfone Lite L2 in India with a very low price tag. Asus has the big motive behind the launch of Zenfone Lite l1, this smartphone basically for everyone.

And Asus has the vision to introduce the smartphone with every person even if he is the auto driver. This is a great initiative by Asus because everyone want’s to entertainment. And as we see Zenfone Lite l1 done a really good job. It makes a good option for those who do not familiar with smartphones. And Asus make a big competition for all brands like Xiaomi, Honor and Nokia, Samsung. So now as we see Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Go to compete with the Asus.

Asus Zenfone Lite L1 comes in the only one storage variant – 2GB RAM 16GB storage. The device is available exclusively via Flipkart with a price tag starting at INR 6999. It comes in two colour options namely Black and Gold. Right now Asus has some exciting offers for you if you but today, you will get the Zenfone Lite l1 only on Rs.4999. Which is pretty good. So lets’ talk some important specs about this amazing smartphone.

Asus Zenfone Lite L1 Specs:

  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa Core
  • Battery: 3000mAh
  • Connectivity: Dual SIM, dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, micro USB
  • Display: 13.84cm(5.45inch) HD+ Display
  • RAM & ROM: 2GB & 16GB.
  • Operating System: Android Oero 8.1

Design and Build

When comes to design Zenfone Lite L1 is a very common design nothing is new there and not to shout about the design but I have to say the device is very slim and you can easily carry in your one hand. and design is very similar to other budget smartphones in the market.

At the bottom, you will find the two speakers and a Micro-USB port. Zenfone lite l1 contains two speakers but you will find the loud sound from one speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top of the phone.

So overall, the design is not unique but undoubtedly when you hold the device in your hand it looks premium and stylish according to the price point.

Jumping to build quality, build quality is quite impressive, I was surprisingly shocked, When I have been using this device I dropped this smartphone a lot of time but eventually, I didn’t find any scratches. And at the back Zenfone Lite l1 support the plastic frame but back is shiny and very elegant. and if you don’t want to carry the back cover, it is fine you can carry your device without the back cover. As it only has a single camera and a flash at the top left corner, and an Asus logo in the centre.

Display

This phone has a 5.45-inch display at the front with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The size makes it easy to use in one hand, and all corners of the display are easy to reach. It has equally thick borders all around but misses out on the 2.5D curved glass that the ZenFone Max M1 sports. The phone weighs only 140g. And on the front, you will get the single selfie camera which is an average performance. And good one thing you will find the notification LED. The display is quite impressive but makes sure Zenfone Lite L1 doesn’t support the gorilla glass or anything. So you have to put the tempered glass to protect your phone.

Camera and performance

The ZenFone Lite L1 has a single camera system at the back comprising of a 13MP with LED flash. The camera performance quite average but if you click the pictures outside it’s quite good and clear. In HDR mode is also good in this phone. And plus point in the Zenfone lie l1 you will get depth sensor at the rear camera. Also, it was surprising for me and depth sensor just works perfectly fine. But the downside in this camera you will find the phone couldn’t focus on a subject when we tried to shoot macros.

Selfies taken with the ZenFone Lite L1 are good enough to be shared on social media apps and this is acceptable for the price. The phone also has a selfie flash which comes in handy in dark environments. Portrait mode is available for the front camera, Portrait mode doing well.
Video recording maxes out at 1080p for both the primary and the selfie camera. and video is quite good while you recording and along with audio, the voice is clear.

Overall, photo quality was decent in daylight but not as good as that of the ZenFone Max M1. and in low light conditions camera performance drop is some aspects and if you want to better camera you can go with the Redmi 6 instead go with Zenfone Lite L1.

Jumping to a more important aspect which is software performance,
The Zenfone Lite L1 is a budget offering that is powered by the same slightly old Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor as the Zenfone Max M1. It is an octa-core SoC with all cores clocked at 1.4GHz. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable using the microSD card slot which accepts cards of up to 256GB.

As we now I have been using this smartphone from last 1 month I am very disappointed with performance and software. I think is a big reason for the software is 2GB RAM, this is not enough to compete the Snapdragon 430 processor. And in any device software performance is a vital part of the device if the user doesn’t happy with the software, very disappointed with the Asus. Even Max M2 has the Same Snapdragon but I was getting better performance in Max M1 without facing and lagging issue. But in Zenfone Lite L1 I have been facing the lagging issue and even some apps have taken a long time to open. So in that condition, we have to clear data I have done a lot of times in a day.

Asus ships the ZenFone Lite L1 with Android Oreo and ZenUI on top. There are a few customisations and you get apps including Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and a few Google apps. Asus has also installed some of its own apps such as Weather, Sound Recorder, Mobile Manager, and File Manager. And you will get the battery power saving mode which is great.

And the gaming is quite average and actually, my experience was not so good with the gaming because of 2GB RAM Snapdragon 430 doesn’t perform very well. So we have to wait for the update or security patch.

The Zenfone Lite L1 lets you set up face recognition to unlock the smartphone, and it takes about two seconds to unlock the phone. Seriously, face unlock is very fast if you compare with the Redmi 6A at this price range. Undoubtedly Face unlock is much better than Redmi 6A and even it is fast because Zenfone Lite L1 doesn’t support the fingerprint sensor.

So lets about the gaming experience I am love to playing the games on phone. But Zenfone Lite L1 is not good in some aspect. Like some games doing really well but like PUBG and Asphalt 8 or 9 has taken a long time to load on this phone, but it was able to run at the lowest settings. And one more thing, Out of the 16GB of storage, you will get around 8GB free for apps and games. So you indeed the SD card which the make your device more accurate and smooth. All in all, Software, as well as performance, is quite average.

Battery and Sound Quality

The ZenFone Lite L1 has a 3000mAh battery. So it takes a time  3hours to completely charged 0% to 100%. So best is that you can leave it for the overnight to completely charged. And battery performance is quite impressive. You will never let down with the battery performance. When you fully charge your device, the device gives you at least a day along. And while charging you didn’t feel any heating issue in Lite L1.

And come to the Sound performance I have to say that Asus Contains the Two loudspeakers but I wasn’t disappointed with the speakers. Speakers are not so loud as the last previous Asus device had. So but one thing you can do, First go to the setting option and click on the sound & vibration option and click on AudioWizard and manage the sound according to your convenience. After that Sound is loud and clear.

Verdict: Asus Zenfone Lite L1

Coming to the most important question of this review article- Should you go with this smartphone. The Zenfone Lite L1, there is no doubt device is quite impressive. When I was using this device, I was very impressed with the face to unlock feature and how is fast, it is really surprising.

The Snapdragon 430 is slow compared to the newer processors that are available in other phones in the market,  because of 2GB RAM. And the battery performance and camera performance does make this phone better and otherwise, nothing is shout about this device.

So overall, If you are on a strict budget, then you can go with this smartphone instead of you can with Redmi 6A. But I would suggest you if you raise your budget so it would be a good option for you like Max M1 and realme and Redmi 6A.

Asus ZenBook 14 UX434F Review

Published

on

Asus is currently the market leader in the laptops like, after the launched of VivoBook lineup Asus has changed the concept of laptops in the Indian market, whether it comes to the gaming laptop in their ROG lineup or with their budget segment laptops Asus has balanced very well in both categories. Now Asus has come up with a new innovation in the laptop, from now Asus makes easier for task management with the help of screen pad functionality. So today we will talk about the new Asus ZenBook 14 UX434F with a revamped  ScreenPad. Asus had added this ScreenPad 2.0 feature in all the new ZenBook models.

Now raise the important question for us it’s ScreenPad just a fancy gimmick or something that is a great innovation? Let’s find out here.

Asus ZenBook 14 UX434F Specs

So let’s take a look at the new Asus ZenBook 14 specification and see what is under the hood. As we know the key highlight of this laptop is ScreenPad. But apart from the ScreenPad, this laptop makes their presence in some other specs. Like, This laptop comes with an Intel Core i5 – 8265U processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. In the graphics end, ZenBook 14 came up with a powerful Nvidia MX250 GPU with 2GB, Not basically for gaming purpose but still, you will get the good resolutions and almost game runs without a lagging issue in high resolutions. And we all are focused on the ScreenPad feature but ZenBook 14 has a good display also. In the display, it sports a 14-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) NanoEdge display. And Key feature of this laptop ToucPad also a ScreenPad.

Now come to the storage,  Asus has only focused on SSD to improve the performance of every laptop and to avoid the harddisk, I know harddisk consume more storage but SSD gives you better performance. So we had a 512GB PCIe SSD, but you can get it with up to 1TB of PCIe SSD. Include some other sensors like, we had a face-unlock feature to unlock your device and face-unlock performs very well even in the dark with the help 3D IR camera. And the key factor of this laptop it’s 5.65-inch ScreenPad display. And along with ZenBook 14, Asus has also introduced another model which is   ZenBook 15 UX534F take look at the ZenBook 15 specs both are very similar with the specifications, it comes with an Intel Core i7 8th Gen, and 15.6inch FHD, and coupled with a 16GB RAM of DDR4 memory, a dedicated Nvidia GT1650 Max-Q with 2GB GDDR5 graphics card.

Asus ZenBook 14: Design and Build Quality

The Asus ZenBook 14 has come up with a very unique design and it looks sleek and portable. Asus has already worked on that bezel-less display and ZenBook is one of the examples of that, and few ZenBook series looks very similar to each other in the display session. As we see the last couple of years, Small and sleek laptops are very expensive and that’s a big reason behind these users go for the heavy one and they are affordable also. But now Asus change this trend and whenever Asus launched their laptop they are sleek and portable but also in the mid-range segment. And actually, Asus set the trademark for the other brands.

The ASUS ZenBook UX434F comes with a 14’’ 1080p (FullHD) screen, and a screen to body ratio of 92%, which basically makes this laptop just a screen. Screen edges only mentioned on paper because is just 2.9mm thick edges, it not even a feel while watching movie and gaming. And colour accuracy is just perfect as it covers the sRGB spectrum at 100%.  When it comes the outer shell is made up of metal finish and shiny looks and it feels fresh. There is a massive Asus logo at the back in the centre in the Gold accent. And the Asus Logo looks more precious when it coordinates with the Royal Blue Colour. And all the body contains the same pattern which is Royal Blue. Now jumping to the build quality.

The Asus ZenBook 14 has quit impressive build quality according to their price point. Weighing just 1.35kg and measuring 7.83mm deep and very very thin, the ZenBook 14 is both light and slim. Impressively, Asus has managed to squeeze in plenty of ports: a Type-C USB 3.1 port, Type-A USB 3.1, and another Type-A USB port, along with an HDMI port and a microSD card reader. Also included are the standard 3.5mm headphone jack and the mains port.

And Asus ZenBook 14 has supported the Face-Unlock feature, but Asus hasn’t added the fingerprint sensor according to me at this price point Asus has to include the fingerprint scanner, it’s quite be disappointed because all VivoBook lineup had a fingerprint scanner. And come to the sound performance, it is quite good enough for the laptop, Asus has supported two powerful  Harman/Kardon speakers. Harman/Kardon speakers to ensure the very best sound for all kinds of content.

All in all, Design and build is a well-balanced package for those who travel a lot because it’s very very light in weighing you can carry around everywhere. So basically, ZenBook 14 not so dull and not so attractive in design but nothing out of the normal. It looks attractive and a very powerful premium ultraportable laptop.

Asus ZneBook 14: Display

Asus ZenBook 14 sports a 14-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The panel is big enough for the day to day work. When we see the bezels are very thin and even we can say that no. And Display quite well design and display contain the Webcam and 3D Ir camera Technology to scan your face to unlock the device. This design makes the world’s smallest laptops.

The colour accuracy is quite impressive and brightness and even it performs very well in the night you don’t have to start the night light and are offering a great experience for outdoor as well as indoor usage. And at the top of we have the web camera support and led which blink while you’re trying to open the laptop with the face unlock. The display is quite impressive and video churns the decent output from the frame and which it looks stunning. And the secondary 5.65-inch ScreenPad display is also good.

Asus ZenBook 14: Keyboard and Touchpad

The centre of the attraction here is the all-new touchpad cum secondary display which is the key highlight of the laptop. In our weeks of testing, we found the touchpad to be quite useful in terms of productivity. At first, we found the touchpad to be quite annoying but eventually, we got used to it. The secondary display uses its own user interface which is quite straightforward. You get the home button,  recent key, settings icon and touchpad switcher all present on the bottom bar. Being an avid music listener, the integration of apps such as Spotify turns out to be quite helpful. I no longer would have to switch between windows to change the music playback.

Similarly, the secondary display can be used for office-related apps such as docs, sheet, presentations and much more. Another interesting addition is the handwriting app which lets you type using the hand giving you a smartphone-like experience to the laptop. Furthermore, you can transfer windows from the primary screen to the secondary one to boost up productivity. Although thanks to the small screen, exploring or working with the windows was a bit of hassle. With that said, the secondary display is perfect for watching movies while still working on your important things. I also found the touchpad on the secondary display to be quite smooth and fluid which is something I am gonna miss on other laptops.  Lastly, the secondary display is a nifty addition but is not an essential one in my opinion.

Now jumping to the keyword portion which is quite good, The laptop comes with a backlit chiclet-style keyboard. The keyword has contained enough space, it’s quite comfortable for both specs, like gaming and long typing sessions. But one thing is really annoying me the power shut down button is mix up with the keyword portion, so when you pressing the delete button but most of the time I was press the power button, but give it some time we got used to it. And did we mentioned about the one cool feature in this laptop, you will get the great typing experience in this laptop because when you open this laptop, it folds and chassis quite uplifted to you and we got a great experience.

Overall, a keyword is a quite good and great experience for those who are used to belong long typing session. because in this keyword you will get the best typing experience and most important fact is that not that much of a pain. Basically, this chiclet-style keyword is typical Asus style keyword.

Asus ZenBook 14: Software and Performance

The laptop is powered by the 8th Generation Intel Core i5 8265U processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 with 2GB VRAM. As we already discussed ZenBook 14 not essential for the gamers, basically this laptop for those who prefer productive work. But more thing because of Nvidia graphics That should be quite enough for any everyday task.

As we see Asus ZenBook 14 has supported the face unlock feature,  and using this laptop for an entire week, and I didn’t find any lag between the face unlock even in the dark and I am surprisingly shocked face work works vary accurate in the dark, it takes only 1-2 sec to dedicated your face. But unfortunately, the fingerprint scanner doesn’t support in this module.

Come to the performance, We know that this is not even close to a gaming laptop but we wanted to test this aspect as well. So we tested some games, We got constant 50-60fps on average and in some normal games is touched almost 90-100fps. but if you want to edit videos in this laptop you will find good output frame because of the MX250 is up to 3.5X faster than a standard integrated graphics chip, so whatever creative graphics task such as video and photo editing, ZenBook 14 delivers the silky-smooth speed you need.

There is a 512GB PCIe SSD which can be upgraded, Asus avoid the HDD which is good for the consumer because of SSD more powerful and accurate. Gaming didn’t expect to form this laptop but as we know SSD makes more compatible for us to run some games on low resolutions. I have been using this laptop from a week, With around 10-15 google chrome tabs and some more opera tabs and some moment music also running on the background and typing and browsing the web with a video playing in another chrome window on the ScreenPad, the laptop run nifty a charm and without lagging.

Advanced cooling performance, For maximum, sustained performance, the new ZenBook 14 UX434 uses an updated cooling system. And did a good work on the cooling feature because this one is basically for productive work not for gaming point of view. So, some time for long typing sessions and watching a movie, we can’t find any heating issue.

And come to battery performance, ZenBook 14 took almost 1hr 30 min to fully charged up and you’ll found enough backpack, if you are the heavy user you’ll get 5-6 hours with the ScreenPad off, and just under 4 hours with the ScreenPad on. Even you can play games 2 hr without a plugin, is it quite impressive battery capacity.

So overall, performance is quite impressive and basically this gadget for the productive work we can’t consider for the heavy gaming purpose. Still, Gaming is something we didn’t expect to be doing on this laptop, but considering it has a basic graphics card, light gaming on the laptop works like a charm. If you want to run heavy gaming on this laptop, so you should look elsewhere. Otherwise, performance is outstanding for day to day to the task.

Asus ZenBook 14: Verdict

Asus Zenbook 14 UX434F is a laptop which is essentially designed for productivity and tech enthusiasts. Although the touchpad cum secondary display is a unique way to kick off things in the laptop segment, this new tech might not be useful for an average laptop user. For tech enthusiasts who are always in the rush to try out new things, Asus Zenbook 14 is a great option. Similarly, this laptop is an impressive option for those who prefer productivity more than the overall gaming performance.

With that said, the gaming performance on this laptop is not that bad. With the GeForce MX250 2GB GPU, the laptop can churn out decent frame drops at medium settings in triple-A titles. The lower you go in the titles, the higher settings you can play games on. Coming to the overall feel, the laptop is on the premium side delivering impressive display, keyboard and touchpad packed in a compact chassis. At last, Asus Zenbook 14 UX434F is a great laptop designed for productivity and can still handle the casual non-pro gaming in various titles. On the contrary, if you’re looking for the raw gaming performance, you should look elsewhere.

Kingston DataTraveler Bolt Duo Edition Review

Published

on

As we are very familiar with Kingston, Kingston is one of the best leading company for gaming products around the world. In fact, HyperX was also born from Kingston. The goal of Kingston and HyperX the providing high- performance gaming instrument for gamers. Although, last 5 to 10 years Kingston has done a great job with there amazing products for gamers. Now we have the Kingston DataTraveler Bolt Duo Pendrive for iPhone or Mac users only. So now jumping to the review and let’s take a preview to what makes new about this Pendrive.

Before starting the review, Kingston’s DataTraveler Bolt Duo is available in 32 GB ($34), 64 GB ($44), and 128 GB ($69)  storage capacities. Now let’s move to the main aspects.

Bolt Duo especially made for the iPhone or MacBook users, When comes to the speed of transferring the files is very easy while when you transfer your data iOS device and Mac, and now let’s discuss in brief… And the question is we should spend the 44 dollars on this Pendrive? Let’s find out here…

Although Kingston is a bit late to introduce this kind of Pendrives for Apple users, Kingston had done a really great job with the pen drive.  let’s take a look at the design of Bolt Duo, the design is very simple but still, look amazing and gracing. Coating of silver colour it makes more remarkable and attractive, Bolt Duo cover all the area by metallic. And the two connectors one measures an inch-and-a-half from tip to tip, with a Lightning connector on one end and the other end entirely made up of a USB 3.0 connector. As we know all portion cover by metallic, so for you convenient bolt has a place a single square which means your thumb and finger easily to fit in this and easy to remove the pen drive form Mac and iPhone. Alongside, Kingston has also included a silicon carrying case that allows you to carry Bolt on your keychain and the colour of is also silver and looks attractive. And most importantly you bold duo will be safe and you can carry anywhere easily.

When comes to the design size is always a matter for Pendrive because Pendrive is very important gadget nowadays everyone should have to carry with them. In that case Pendrive more heavy and big, so it makes you avoid to carry with you but not with this Bolt Duo you don’t have to face this kind of situations as we already discussed Bolt Duo is the smallest and sleekest in the size and looks very attractive. Next step how to use manage this Bolt Duo is your device?

How to install the Bolt Duo in your device?

Let’s move to the setup, Bolt Duo setup couldn’t be simpler, the first step you have to plug the Bolt Duo in your iPhone or iPad and pop will be displayed and follow the instruction and install the app form apple app store.

And go to the second stage after installing the app, you will see the capacity option of your Bolt Duo and you will get the 64gb space in your drive. And after done all the step and install the app.

You will see three option in the app:

  1.   Transfer Photos and videos to the Bolt drive
  2. Capture photos or videos using the Apple device’s camera, when you have to click a lot of pictures and unlikely you’re short of space.
  3. You will able to view all the contents of the Bolt drive on the Apple device.

But one thing keeps in your mind when you plug the Bolt into the iPhone or iPad, Every time you want to access the Bolt you will be allowed to the app to access your device. Although, you will be also be asked for you want to access your camera/ microphone to capture the image and videos directly to the bolt device.

Performance

Let’s start the main aspect of any kind of Pendrive which is how many times consume to transfer the data? So take look with a basic data transfer to iPhone to Bolt Duo which includes photos and videos, songs more likely 2000, so Bolt Duo it took at least 5 to 10 minutes maximum which is quite impressive according to the price range. An even same time consume in iPad to transferring the data.

you can choose certain photos and videos to copy, also you can select all the data to transfer and you can make your favourite album to store your photos and videos etc. After complete the transfer of the data, there is an option in bolt duo which views all the content, which is really helpful for us to not go through all the content on your devices, eventually, you can access the data which is you selected in the flash drive.

But I use to capture option to store your content directly in your flash drive, which is great even personally I loved this feature. And this feature makes better in two ways first is you don’t have to worry about your space in your device which is already running out the apple doesn’t contain more space in their device, the second one is all file directly saved in your flash drive. But one condition is applying to use this method you can access only three ways to capture the image. You can take a regular photo, a square photo, or a video. When you clicked the image by capture option, so it showed up on the Bolt in a new album, called Bolt Camera.

Now come to the second benefit of the Bolt Duo, As we know you can access this Bolt in your MacBook with the help of USB 3.0 connector. When I had connected the bolt into my MacBook and checked out the contents of the Bolt using Finder.

You will see two folders after installing the drive – one for the images captured directly onto the Bolt and one for my iPhone images. I have noticed one thing when I was trying to copying the data from my computer to the bolt and copy into the iPhone, it’s a little bit slow.

So all in all, Performance is quite impressive and it’s enough storage which we had even I had copied all my iPhone data to bolt still I have remained some space to occupied my Mac Data. But personally I was impressed with the speed which I had experienced while transferring the files into my iPhone to Bolt Duo. Performance is absolutely up to the mark for this price point.

Final Thoughts

The Kingston DataTraveler Bolt Duo is a great way to transfer images from a mobile device to your computer so you can free up space on the Apple device- or say just as a backup. You are free now you don’t worry about to save space in your device which is already low on apple devices.  And you can store images and videos directly to the Bolt without using any space on your iPhone or iPad. The app is quite easy to operate to use both iPhone and iPad, Mac.  And Bolt Duo is very small in size you can easily to carry with anywhere, App is very simple to use and easy to install, Quickly backs up images from the Apple device to the Bolt Duo.

So now is a very important question should we spend $44 on this Bolt Duo? According to me yes definitely, because if you want quality and performance together. So this is the correct choice to add up in your gadget list, but if your budget allows this. Undoubtedly, this is an absolutely premium product and if you want speed, just go and buy this amazing Bolt Duo…

Warranty: 2-year warranty with free technical support…

Asus ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU Review: Is one of the best thin-and-light gaming laptops around

Published

on

When we start discussing the gaming laptops first comes in our mind Asus. In the gaming market, Asus is one of the best manufacturing gaming laptops company around the world. As we are familiar with the ROG series, So far in 2019, Asus has introduced their two new major updates of ROG series laptops. This one is much better than the previous one and more powerful.

There are two types of a gaming laptop in the market- one is hulking, powerful but also heavy in weight, another one is more powerful and slim as possible as. I have been using this laptop from the last two weeks, overall my opinion about this slim pattern of a gaming laptop which is great.  I wanted to see this formula of slim and light on every gaming laptop.

Apart from the Asus, there are many more brands offering gaming laptops like very Dell and also be Lenovo. But the point is that Asus might be high in price but offering you some advanced graphics and processor. And ROZ lineup always added some new latest technology and to introduce with you.

Everyone always worrying to carry heavy gaming laptop to with us, but Asus always try to resolve the issue of users so now Asus has come with a gaming laptop which is really light in weight and slim but still more powerful. Asus has recently added new gaming laptop in ROG lineup which is Zephyrus M GU502GU. It starts at Rs 1,39,990, I know Price is very expansive but it’s just enough for a gaming laptop and even at this price point you will get the latest graphics and processor and weighing just under 2kg which is an important aspect for a gaming laptop. Now the question is should we invest in this laptop? Let’s review the facts quickly.

Asus ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU design and Build Quality

Now come to the important fact of any gaming laptop which is design and build quality. Design is always a vital part of any gaming laptop especially with gaming laptops because while you start gaming in your laptop it feels refreshing and elegant appealing. Without any doubt, the ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU is definitely light enough to be carried around every day, because very light in weight and Weighing under just 2Kg and also slim.

ROG Zephyrus comes with a black colour which is looking attractive, And more than at the back of the laptop shades of black and stylish sharp lines give it a menacing yet elegant appearance. The lid is plain black metal with a diagonal brushed texture and a large. But more than I love that trademark sign of Asus ROG which is in every ROZ laptops. A piercing red Asus eye logo glows while we using the laptop, this idea is definitely good when we using the laptop ref light glow.

Port

The ROG Zephyrus M’s keyboard is in the centre of the deck, not near the front edge like on other Zephyrus gaming notebooks. That leaves room for a palm rest and large touchpad under the keyboard. Asus showed some excellent work with the display like when you playing games in the ROG you won’t have to feel bored and dull.

So overall, Asus has done great work with the design especially when you focus on manufacturing gaming laptops. Still, I haven’t found any drawbacks with design. Now jumping to the build portion.

Build Quilty is always mattered in every laptop, So I have to say this  Asus hasn’t any compromised on the build quality. Especially we have very thin edges. And Asus used an aluminium material to make this laptop, And the keyword is quality is absolutely outstanding for a gaming point of view, more we’ll discuss in a while.

And the finishing of black all over the laptop is quite interesting and when you touched it feels premium. And the back panel is also good and very reliable for folding the laptop. And The borders on the top and sides of the screen are extremely narrow, but the chin is very thick.

Zephyrus M has a good variety of ports. On the right side are a USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports and a lock slot. The left side houses an RJ45 Ethernet port, an HDMI 2.0 input, a third USB 3.1 Type-A port and separate headphone and mic jacks, as well as charging port. And the plus is that we have the Type -C port, most likely smartphone has a Type-C port nowadays it’s important part of any laptop. Each side also has large vents for hot air, but there is no SD card slot.

Port

But major issue I have to realise Asus hasn’t supported the web camera in this series which is not so cool according to me. Because we see other gaming laptops in the market they also have a Bazzel less edge in their product but they put the web camera in the chin or even on the keyboard, but I feel this is the better solution rather than just getting rid of it. This is an issue for those who spend there most of the time on the video calls for the business and for those who use to click a fun picture with webcam and the major issue with those who stream games, now you’ll have to buy and carry around an external USB webcam. I forget to mention one more thing, at the chin we have a microphone and the logo of ROG Zephyrus. At the top of the keyword, we have 3 indication light, one indicates for battery and another one is for cutout makes the power, and the last one is for storage status.

So overall, The Zephyrus M GU502GU has a very practical design and is easy to carry around in a backpack and is just good enough for the gaming laptop if you compared with other gaming laptops in the market I am sure you found is much better than in the design and looks premium and now build quality the ROG Zephyrus M GU502 is lightweight and slim, and gave the very attractive finishing with the black at the back. But otherwise, build quality is quite good not be shout about it and is fair enough for this price point we can’t accept everything perfectly in one laptop.

Display

The ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU has a 15.6-inch display with good colour contrast, and 1080pixel is plenty vivid. And Asus has a used new refresh rate which is 144HZ 3ms for you smother video playback and especially for gamers because this is a gaming-oriented laptop. And 144HZ helps for 4k video with live experiences. And the matte panel is very effective when you playing games with an ultra effect literally, you’ll feel the vibrations through the panel.

I have been using this laptop from the last 2 weeks, I have tested some display quality to watching a trailer of action films and watched some quality  4k videos and showed up some refresh brighter colour while watching videos. And the most important fact is that edges make some good presence while streaming the videos and gaming.

Edges are extremely narrow, with the help of edges display if you put some HD wallpapers it looks very pretty and very real and as we see the screen is very sharp that if you might scare some time while you watching horror movies. and one more thing you don’t have to use the screen guard because the display use by Asus is absolutely outstanding.

Audio

Audio is the most important aspect in any gaming laptop, Asus has supported two stereo speakers are on the bottom. I must say this speaker is quite loud and more important is a clear voice. Like I have tested when I was streaming the game I wasn’t focused on the subtitle, it means voice is so much clear and loud and especially is good not to much loud. Some gaming laptop too much loud, which make you irritate and to avoid listening to the songs on the full volume.

But Zephyrus M GU502  has supported great speakers with good quality sound. And the GU502 favours lower frequencies, so it helps you clarify the voice. In fact, the voice is so much I was watching some video in that video the sounds of birds chirping was appropriately sharp and clear. So undoubtedly, the sound of ROZ Zephyrus M is absolutely up to the mark.

Keyboard and Touchpad

A keyword plays a very vital role in the gaming laptop and also touchpad. So The area around the keyboard and trackpad is made of metal with a matte texture. So let’s start with the keyword, The Zephyrus M GU502’s keyboard offers 1.3 millimetres of key travel.  And every gaming laptop had backlight support, but in this laptop backlight pattern is much batter than other gaming laptops in the market.

And the position of the button is quite easy, all the functions key and  We do appreciate the dedicated volume and mic mute buttons and trademark Asus performance button. But try to make a small keyword, the arrow keys are a bit too small but you will get used to it. in that case, Delete and insert share a key, and PrintScreen is in the bottom alongside with control key. And but you will get giant Function and window key and AlT in the left side of the corner and one fun is also in the right corner. There are shortcuts to change the RGB keyboard backlight pattern and brightness and it’s a very cool pattern in this laptop as well very attractive, and you can change the pattern of backlights (Fun+right arrow key).

Now come to the Touchpad,  The Touchpad is placed at the centre and the dimension of the touchpad is approx. 4.1 x 2.8-inch. But unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the touchpad and It doesn’t have separate buttons for press right-click or left one and sometimes it’s felt rough. But it has nice textures like (pinch-to-zoom and three-finger swipe to switch apps). But I m sure you can’t use this touchpad for gaming you’ll have to buy another mouse for real gaming experience, So overall Touchpad is quite average.

Battery Life

Asus has a impressive battery life for a gaming laptop, As we know we can’t usually accept so much battery performance for a gaming laptop.  Asus hasn’t specified the actual battery capacity. But according to my experience, ROZ Zephyrus managed a decent 3 to 4 hours pack on a single charge which involves continuous web-surfing over Wi-Fi, and high 4k videos plus RGB keyboard backlighting is configurable per key, in fact, The 15.6-inch screen has a standard resolution of 1920×1080 which is really good. So it is quite decent without gaming. But you can access only 2 hours with gaming is fair enough for gaming laptops. And one more thing we have a type-c port so you can charge your laptop using type -c and it’s quite fast. otherwise, a normal adapter is also performed fast. So all in all, battery life is quite impressive and it’s give you enough battery life according to the gaming laptop.

Performance & Software

Now comes to the very important aspect for any gaming laptop which is software and performance. The ROG series of gaming laptops never compromise in the performance & Software department., Again Asus has nailed it in the performance and every crucial area. And Asus has launched this laptop totally for the gamers point of view, so this is clear you won’t be regret to buy this laptop for gaming point. Now let’s start with the important aspect of the ROZ Zephyrus M GU502GU.

Asus has launched this portable gaming machine in Indian The new ROG series laptops debuted the 9th gen Intel processors you will see experience first time Intel 9th gen in any laptop. And you get the Core i7-9750H processor paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD storage, but there’s a free slot so you can add up to 16GB RAM more. And now the key highlight of this laptop is the graphic card, you’ll get the latest Nvidia’s GTX 1660 Ti which is based on the same new Turing architecture as the GeForce RTX series.

Features are very similar to other ROG laptop in the market, but still much better because of the latest graphics card and intel 9th gen. So the software is quite impressing and bloatware is quite good in the ROG laptop much improvement to the previous ones. And you will get few pre-installed Asus apps, includes sort of key feature customize to help to overcome your efforts to pressing more keys. You also get your standard fare of Windows 10 Home apps, including the Candy Crush games, Groove Music and the Xbox Game Bar. I tested CPU benchmarks and shared some pictures below.

.

The software really helps to more customize your laptop is some ways, as you can click only one button to set the performance of your laptop according to your work it means to operate a fan in one button. Customize keyword lights patterns you can put according to the current mood. And personally I love one feature which is adjusting audio controls like you plug the earphones they ask 3 options to which type you want to listen and check for windows updates, and daily updates on Asus apps.

And one feature is indeed to be mention is that if you watching a movie and you don’t want to use your keyword, so automatically backlight will be off this customize feature help in the saving the battery life, and freeing up system processes. And  The app’s interface is clean and easy to use. In fact, to protect your laptop with virus you will get the McAfee LiveSave trial for 30 days. Now jumping to performance…

Performance

Armed with a Core i7-9750H CPU and 16GB of RAM and GTX 1660 Ti graphics is just enough to recognize the performance of this laptop, This laptop is fully capable of heavy gaming. The ROG Zephyrus M is more than enough for the multitasking in your everyday usages, it can handle heavy videos and images editing work to very easily.

First, start with the display which in short is brilliant. It’s a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS LCD panel that comes with support for Pantone colours and it supports 100 per cent sRGB colours. Extremely powerful colour brightness and wide view angles are absolutely great, as we discussed the vibration through the panel which increases the infra brightness rays. As we know the higher refresh rate is 144HZ which enough for worth aspiring Competitive Gamers, but if you doing playing gaming along with videos might be a chance to drop of high refresh rate to 60HZ. I have tested some benchmark on the GFX bench it’s covered all the system like GPU and CPU but not include gaming benchmark, and added some result of benchmark in the below images.

But Asus very focused on the internal part of the ROG, So 16GB RAM including 512SSD and latest graphics. So there is no way to lagging issue and SSD always help to improve the system processing which is always the first concern for any gaming laptop. There is one customize feature is the screen goes black and there is a 2-5 second delay each time it switches modes when you plug the charger in or unplug it.  performance is absolutely great, like if you streaming heavy games so automatically your laptop customize the performance and start the fans but you can also set the fans system process with the help of F5(silent, performance, high is turbo).  And the speaker also plays an important role in gaming laptops so Asus has supported two speakers, and it is quite loud you don’t add up external or anything.

And Nvidia’s GTX 1660 Ti support, you can easily access the latest games but not every game on ultra resolutions, some games might be slightly lower screen resolution. Otherwise, you will find astonishing experience in every game in this ROG laptop. But the downside is only this is quit heating after 1-hour usages but isn’t noticeable to much.

Gaming Experience

The engine powering the ROG Zephyrus M GU502 is an Nvidia GeForce GTX1660 Ti, So machine handles very high graphics setting on 1080p streaming without even lag. I have been using the laptop from last 2 week, and I played a lot of games includes heavy and normal games in ultra-resolution effects.

The machine easily handled Shadow of War at 1080p on very high graphics settings, maintaining between 50 fps and 65 fps and mostly time is average between 60 to 70 in normal resolution. We started testing the performance of the ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU with some synthetic benchmarks with GFX and for ensuring about the  GPU term we used MSI benchmark, as possible as.

So I played some high graphics games like the latest Call of Duty Infinite warfare, GTAV, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Don Bradman Cricket 17, Far Cry 5 and Far Cry 5 running on the native 1920×1080 resolution at the Ultra preset. With the refresh rate set to 144Hz, we saw an average frame rate of 63fps to 70fps which is quite enough and as we already discussed if you streaming in ultra-high mode, all-metal desk keyword is too much heat. And I have shared with some test and benchmarks result to clarify how much laptop gives you GPU, FPS And CPU test while streaming on high graphics and ultra-high mode. My one opinion is if you had kept the graphics on high resolution it would be a great experience for gaming long hours to avoid Ultra-high on some sort of games.

Overall, this is a mighty powerful laptop for the gaming and if you invest in this for a gaming point view, I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Astonishing, Asus is focused on battery life is very impressive for a gaming laptop. And Two fans supported so it might very help for during streaming.

Bottom line

The ROG Zephyrus M GU502 is a great laptop but every laptop has a downside. but Asus has tried to manage to fuse the amount of performance you need for playing the latest games in a slim and practical form factor. But the plus point with gaming laptop you can carry throughout the day in your backpack, often I forget it is a gaming laptop because is very slim because we’re assuming gaming laptop is used to be heavy. The downside is barely be noticed like, while you playing the gaming for a very long and alongside you can streaming heavy videos so it’s a little bit heating issue. I didn’t notice any lag while using multitasking.

We have more options for gaming laptops in the Indian market like Dell G7 15 and Lenovo Legion Y740 its performance is quite good. But still Asus ROG series always be the number one choice for the gamers.  The price of this laptop is reasonable considering its modern hardware, 144Hz screen and latest intel generation and new Nvidia processor. You can get a very slim and powerful design at this price point. The most important fact is that while you working anywhere with this amazing laptop nobody notice with you awkward stares even you can work on the document or something.

So All in all,  the Asus ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU is a well-balanced package for gamers and price is quite high but if your pocket allows this price go for it, and if you take my opinion I can’t suggest any other alternative. So overall, my experience was pretty mind-blowing with this gaming laptop.
